RecMyStory Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 26.07.2026 Last Updated: 26.07.2026

Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Sky High (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the RecMyStory mobile application (“the App”). We have built the App with privacy as a foundational principle.

The short version: RecMyStory stores your recordings on your device. We do not run servers that collect your data. We do not track your activity. We do not share your information with anyone, ever.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at skyhigh.sales@skyhighapps.com.

What information the App handles
Information stored only on your device
Video recordings — recordings you create using the App, including any associated metadata (duration, date created, chapter markers).
Project information — the names you assign to people you interview, your notes, the questions you select for each project.
Settings and preferences — your onboarding completion status, app preferences.

All of the above is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to it. We do not upload it to any server. We do not see it.

Information handled by Apple, not by us

When you use the App, Apple may handle certain information on our behalf for the operation of the App. We do not control or access this directly, but we want you to know about it:

Subscription information — if you purchase a subscription, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. Apple may share aggregate, anonymized information with us about subscription activity (such as the number of subscribers per plan, conversion rates) for our business operations. We do not see your name, email, payment information, or any personal identifier.
Crash reports and analytics — if you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in your iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymized crash reports and usage data with us. This data does not identify you. You can opt out at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in the App.

Device permissions

The App requests the following device permissions:

Camera access — required to record video. The camera is only activated when you are actively on the recording screen. We do not access your photo library or any existing photos.
Microphone access — required to record audio along with video. The microphone is only activated during recording.

These permissions are used solely for the purpose of recording within the App. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your iOS Settings.

What we do NOT do
We want to be explicit about what the App does NOT do, because privacy is a defining feature of RecMyStory:

We do not upload your recordings to any server or cloud service.
We do not create accounts or require sign-up.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier.
We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any similar tracking technologies.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
We do not use your recordings for AI training, advertising, or any other purpose.
We do not have access to your subscription details beyond aggregated, anonymized statistics from Apple.
Sharing your recordings

If you choose to share a recording through the App’s Share feature, you initiate that sharing through the iOS Share Sheet. What happens next depends on which destination you choose (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files, etc.) and is governed by the respective service. We have no involvement in that process and do not see the contents of what you share.

Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly handle information from children under 13. The App’s content (questions designed to interview adults, life-history themes) is also not intended for users under 13.

If a parent or guardian is aware that a child under 13 has used the App in a way that involved sharing personal information with us, they should contact us at skyhigh.sales@skyhighapps.com — however, as we do not collect personal information through the App, this scenario is unlikely.

Your rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal information, most data-protection rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are inherently satisfied — your data is already entirely under your control on your device.

If you reside in a jurisdiction that grants you specific data-protection rights (such as the GDPR in the European Union, the UK GDPR, the CCPA in California, the LGPD in Brazil, or similar laws elsewhere), you have the right to:

Confirm whether we hold any personal information about you (we do not).
Request access to any personal information we hold (we hold none).
Request correction or deletion of personal information (none to correct or delete).
Object to or restrict any processing of your personal information (we do not process any).
Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

If you want to delete your recordings and project data, you can do so directly within the App or by deleting the App entirely. All locally stored data is removed when the App is uninstalled.

Subscription billing

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple’s App Store. Apple’s privacy practices and policies govern this process. Refer to Apple’s privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ for details.

We do not have access to your payment method, billing address, or any other transaction details beyond the anonymized aggregate information Apple may provide.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material (for example, if we add new categories of data handling), we will notify users through the App or other reasonable means before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
