NoSpoil Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026

NoSpoil (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a food expiry tracking application developed by Sky-High. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the NoSpoil iOS app.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. NoSpoil is designed with a privacy-first approach — your food tracking data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
NoSpoil stores the following data locally on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

Product names, brands, and categories you add to your pantry
Expiry dates, quantities, and storage locations
Product images (URLs from public databases, not your personal photos)
Items marked as consumed or wasted, with timestamps
Shopping list items
App settings and preferences
Notification schedules

This data is stored entirely on your device and in your personal iCloud account (if iCloud is enabled on your device). We do not have access to this data and cannot retrieve it.

1.2 Data Sent to Third-Party Services
When you scan a barcode, NoSpoil sends the barcode number (not any personal information) to the following third-party product databases to look up product information:

Open Food Facts (https://world.openfoodfacts.org) — an open, collaborative food product database. Only the barcode number is sent. See their privacy policy at https://world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy
UPCitemdb (https://www.upcitemdb.com) — a product lookup database. Only the barcode number is sent. See their privacy policy at https://www.upcitemdb.com/privacy

When you view recipe suggestions, NoSpoil sends ingredient keyword searches to:

TheMealDB (https://www.themealdb.com) — a free recipe database. Only generic ingredient names are sent (e.g., “chicken,” “tomato”), never your personal data. See their terms at https://www.themealdb.com/api/terms

These services receive only the specific data described above (barcode numbers or ingredient keywords). No personal information, device identifiers, account information, or usage patterns are shared with these services.

1.3 Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:

Your name, email address, or contact information
Your location or IP address
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or behavioral data
Health or biometric information
Photos from your camera (the camera is used only for real-time barcode scanning — no images are captured or stored)
Any data that could identify you personally

2. Camera Access
NoSpoil requests camera access solely to scan product barcodes. The camera feed is processed in real-time on your device to detect barcodes. No photos or videos are captured, stored, or transmitted. You can use the app without camera access by adding items manually.

3. Notifications
NoSpoil uses local notifications (processed entirely on your device) to remind you about expiring products. These notifications are not sent through any external server. You can manage or disable notifications at any time in your device’s Settings.

4. Subscriptions and Payments
NoSpoil Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing is managed by Apple according to their terms and privacy policy. For information about how Apple handles payment data, visit https://www.apple.com/privacy.
Subscription details:

Weekly: $1.49 per week (3-day free trial)
Monthly: $3.99 per month (7-day free trial)
Annual: $24.99 per year (7-day free trial)

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.

5. Children’s Privacy
NoSpoil does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the app does not collect any personal information from any users, it is suitable for users of all ages.

6. Data Storage and Security
All your pantry data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, your data may sync across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account, managed and secured by Apple. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Data security is handled by your device’s built-in protections, including device passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and Apple’s hardware encryption.

7. Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times:

Delete individual items from within the app
Clear all app data from the app’s Settings
Delete the app from your device, which removes all associated data
Manage iCloud data through your device’s Settings under iCloud storage

8. Third-Party Links
Recipe details may include links to external websites (recipe sources and YouTube videos). These third-party websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
